Tissues, Tissues And Scarves!

Tiny loves pulling tissues out of boxes and so I packed an empty tissue box with brightly coloured scarves. She enjoyed pulling them out and playing peek-a-boo. I pulled a scarf off her head then she pulled one off mine and so on. 

Drawer Treasure

One of the places Tiny likes to investigate is the drawers in the bedroom. Knowing this I had filled one with objects that had various textures for her to explore. She spent time chewing a starfish, tempting me to chew a bag of white string and then pulling the objects out onto the floor. While doing this she discovered the drawer handle. She spent the majority of time flicking, shaking, pulling and rattling it. So much so, it came right off in her hand! What a delight! The handle then got dropped as she delighted in playing with the attachments. I love spending time with Tiny as she delights my senses through finding delight in her own. What an exciting, wonder-filled world we live in!

Crawling off . . . . .

Following a Tiny is a curious thing for I cannot predict where the adventure will take me. Climbing the stairs at the moment is one of her favourite activities and ways to spend her time. It helps her develop strength; become more spacially aware and gives her an opportunity to explore momentum.

Treasure Baskets

Treasure Baskets are fun to put together. This week I put together a shiny reflective one and this spring-themed yellow one. We noticed that Tiny loves to pull things out of the recycling bag in the morning and this seemed like an activity she might enjoy. Sometimes she ponders over items or sometimes like this morning she tipped it all out and then crawled off. So she crawled off and I followed her . . . . .

Oats, Oats and Oats

Having been inspired by messy play at a playgroup, I purchased a plaster mixing tray for Tiny to play and explore in at home. I filled the cooking tray with little bath squirters then covered them in oats for Tiny to discover. Add a couple of bowls, a cardboard box and some utensils and exploration begins!

Sensory Mat

Tummy time is so important! These sensory mats help encourage time spent on the tummy by providing engaging things to play with in a safe way. The zip was added at a later time when I noticed Tiny laughing at my friend pulling a zip along her pencil case. Lots of ideas on what to add to a sensory mat on Arthurwears.
